LinkedIn has recently rolled out new features for company pages, and as a LinkedIn Pages expert, I’m excited to share these three key updates with you – two I like and one I was left a little disappointed.
Streamlined Invitation Process for Page Invite Credits
One of the most notable updates is the improvement in the invite credits system. Previously, LinkedIn page admins had to sift through connections to find those who had not been invited previously to follow the page.
There was also no difference previously between those invite and following and those invited and following. This whole process was time-consuming and inefficient.
The new system now separates those who haven’t been invited and moves them to the top of the first page.
It is now easy to establish who is already following the page and who has outstanding invites that have yet to be accepted.
Enhanced Filtering Options
While this change is a significant improvement, a filter to remove those already following the page would be a valuable addition. Nonetheless, the current update significantly speeds up the invitation process, saving valuable time for page admins, so it gets a 👍👍 from me.
New Content Sharing via RSS Feeds for LinkedIn Pages
LinkedIn has introduced a feature that allows content sharing from RSS feeds. This means your blogs, podcasts, and YouTube videos can be automatically shared on your LinkedIn company page.
Subscribe to my YouTube channel @MichelleJRaymond to be notified when the How To video drops.
I’m currently testing this for my podcast and YouTube channel, but in theory, it will be 👍👍if it works as I anticipate. I just hope it doesn’t do an auto-post like it happens with Events. That would be annoying.
This update is free and accessible to all Company Pages, but will be rolled out in stages. If you don’t have it, hang in there, it will come.
I’m a big fan of stretching content and getting that content to your Page followers. Great way to ensure your audience always has fresh content.
LinkedIn Company Page Premium
LinkedIn has launched a paid subscription model for company pages, similar to the personal premium accounts. For approximately $99 USD per month, admins can access several new features designed to enhance page performance and analytics.
Premium Features Breakdown
- Custom Call to Action Button: Previously free, now a premium feature. This button is essential for driving traffic to specific actions, such as visiting your website or contacting your business. Make sure you have someone monitoring the Page inbox for messages, as this is now featured more predominantly.
- Advanced Analytics and Demographics: Gain insights into who visits your page, allowing you to tailor your content more effectively. Note – page visitors can switch this visibility off in their settings.
- Credibility Insights: Highlight key achievements and links, enhancing your page’s credibility.
- AI-Powered Writing Assistants: LinkedIn’s new AI-powered writing assistants are part of the premium package. However, based on current performance, these tools may not yet be worth the investment. They often produce generic content, which might not align with your brand’s voice and quality standards.
- Auto-Invite Engaged Members: Automated follower growth is a promising feature in the premium plan with the auto-invite function. This tool automatically invites users who engage with your content to follow your page, even if they aren’t first-degree connections. This feature can help grow your page’s follower base more organically and quickly.
- LinkedIn Premium Logo: This has zero value besides indicating that you pay for premium to page followers.
Try the New Features
LinkedIn offers a 30-day free trial for the Pages Premium subscription. I encourage you to test these features and would love to hear what you think.
Potential Impact on Engagement
While this feature has potential, its effectiveness will depend on how well LinkedIn promotes company page posts in user feeds. Given the current limitations in organic reach, it remains to be seen how impactful this tool will be. For now, it’s a 👎👎from me with the hope that it will change in the future.
Continuous LinkedIn Pages Improvement
Despite some features moving behind a paywall, LinkedIn continues to invest in company pages, providing tools to help businesses grow and engage with their audience. The updates offer a mix of free and premium enhancements, catering to different needs and budgets.
Have fun testing these features, and if you discover anything interesting, let Michelle J Raymond know.
